1. Core Philosophy: Intentional Computing

QuitHaters ("we", "us", "our") created DopamineHit: Save Your Vibe to rescue users from algorithmic behavioral manipulation and endless doomscrolling. Most social media applications monetize your attention by capturing behavioral telemetry and selling targeted ad placements.

DopamineHit operates under the fundamental premise of Privacy by Architecture. We believe the videos and memories that inspire, amuse, or calm you should remain your personal sanctuary, completely shielded from tracking and profiling.

2. Local-First Private Architecture

Our application is engineered with a strict local-first philosophy. The entire data layer operates exclusively on your device:

• On-Device Local Vault: Stored securely inside your device's isolated local app container (group.com.quithaters.dopaminehit), accessible only by DopamineHit and its quick-save share extension.
• Zero Remote Cloud Database: All data storage, sorting, indexing, and 2-minute capsule generation are handled strictly on your physical device via an embedded SQLite database.
• Zero User Accounts: You do not need to register an email, phone number, or password to use DopamineHit.
• 100% Offline Accessibility: Your curated vibes, custom tags, and local media remain fully accessible even when offline or in airplane mode.

3. Information We Process

When you actively use DopamineHit, the following data is processed exclusively on your device:

• Saved Video URLs & Web Bookmarks: The original web link of Instagram Reels or public videos you deliberately choose to share into DopamineHit.
• User-Selected Local Photos & Videos: Personal photos or videos you explicitly choose to import from your Apple Photos library or share from your device's camera roll. These files are stored strictly within the app's local sandbox container on your device.
• Extracted OpenGraph Metadata: Video titles, thumbnail preview images, and public creator handles extracted via public metadata protocols.
• Emotional Vibe Tags: The vibe categories you assign (e.g., Hype, Laugh, Learn, Calm, Comfort, Inspire) and any custom vibe emojis or names you create.
• Daily Routine Configurations: The scheduled times (e.g., 07:00 AM) and capsule item counts you define for local micro-break reminders.

4. Information We NEVER Collect

To maintain strict privacy integrity, DopamineHit does NOT collect, store, or transmit:

• Your social media login credentials, session cookies, or access tokens.
• Broad or background access to your device's photo library. We use Apple's native, privacy-preserving PhotosPicker — our app receives access ONLY to the specific photos or videos you deliberately select.
• Your personal device photos or videos are NEVER uploaded, backed up to external servers, scanned, or shared.
• Zero Advertising or Tracking SDKs: We do not integrate third-party tracking frameworks, ad networks, or behavioral analytics (conforming to Apple's PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy specification).
• Your private direct messages (DMs), contact lists, or social graphs.
• Precise or coarse GPS location data.
• Device advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app tracking beacons.
• Biometric data (FaceID/TouchID unlocks are handled strictly by Apple's LocalAuthentication API without passing biometric data to the app).

5. Media Ingestion & Storage

DopamineHit provides two distinct, privacy-focused ingestion flows:

• Public Web Links: When you share a public video link via the native iOS Share Sheet, our local networking engine performs a standard anonymous HTTP request to fetch OpenGraph metadata (title and preview thumbnail). No personal identification headers or cookies are sent. Thumbnails are cached locally for fast offline browsing.
• Personal Device Media: When you import personal photos or videos from Apple Photos or via the Share Sheet, the files are copied directly into your private, on-device App Group storage container. This operation happens entirely on-device with zero network requests.

6. Local Push Notifications

Scheduled routines (e.g., your morning focus capsule or evening wind-down) rely exclusively on Apple's UNUserNotificationCenter local notification APIs.

These timers are scheduled, evaluated, and triggered directly by iOS on your physical device. We do not operate an external notification relay server, meaning your daily wake-up, break, and sleep schedules are never transmitted over the internet.

7. Playback & Media Handling

DopamineHit utilizes a hybrid media playback architecture designed for privacy and performance:

• Native Hardware Playback (AVPlayer): Personal photos, videos, and directly stored media are rendered locally using Apple's hardware-accelerated AVPlayer and SwiftUI image views. Playback occurs 100% offline with zero network latency and zero tracking.
• Isolated Embedded Web Player (WKWebView): For online web bookmarks and reels, playback occurs via an isolated Apple WebKit component (WKWebView) loading the official public embed. WebKit manages its own sandboxed cookies according to Apple iOS system-wide privacy controls. DopamineHit does not inject JavaScript to track what you watch or monitor your viewing duration.
• Direct Deep Link Fallback: If an embed cannot load due to creator privacy restrictions, the app provides a direct "Open in Instagram" deep link, launching the official Instagram app externally.

8. GDPR & CCPA Rights (Data Sovereignty)

Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Access: All data stored by DopamineHit is directly visible to you inside the Vault grid and vibe collections.
• Right to Erasure: Deleting an item inside the app immediately purges it from your local on-device vault. Uninstalling DopamineHit permanently destroys all local app storage, database records, and cached media from your device.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We do not sell data, profile users, or monetize user information in any manner.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

DopamineHit is designed for general audiences aged 13 and older (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because we do not collect personal identifiers, emails, or track user ages, we do not knowingly solicit or harvest information from children under 13.

10. Contact & Updates

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect app enhancements (such as optional encrypted iCloud backup in future versions). Any revisions will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp on this page.
